How do I set up a patient's recall preferences?

You can set a patient's recall interval in the patient record, as well as setting the date of their next recall and the recall method.

Once set, the patient will appear in the 'Recalls' report when they are due for an appointment, and if automated recalls are enabled then at this point they will be contacted according to your recall workflow.

To set a patientโ€™s recall preferences:

  • In the patient's record, go to the 'Details' tab.

  • Under the 'Clinical' section, you will see their recall details.

  • In the 'Recall method' field, click the dropdown to choose their preferred method.

  • Select 'Dentist recall interval' and 'Hygienist recall interval' to choose the period between recalls.

  • Edit the due date of their next recall using the 'Next dentist recall' and 'Next hygienist recall' fields. If not edited manually, this updates automatically.

๐Ÿ“ Please note: If you edit a patient's due date while the patient is already in an automated recall workflow, that workflow will continue based on the previous due date, until the workflow is complete or the patient books a relevant appointment. Marking the recall as 'Skipped' will take the patient out of that workflow, meaning they can move into a new workflow based on the new due date you have set.

  • When you have made your changes, ensure you click the 'Save' button, which will appear when you start making edits (in the top right next to the 'Custom fields' button).
