What SMS messages will a patient receive if they are contacted using the short notice filler?

If you use the short notice filler to contact patients, they will be sent a fixed SMS message asking if they want to change their slot (and they will also receive a follow-up if they reply).

Below is a preview of each message type that might be sent to patients. These messages are not editable.

  • When you send a message to selected patients alerting them to short notice availability in the calendar, they will receive:

    • [Patient.firstname], want to move your [appointment_reason] appt to [weekday.date] at [time in 12h format] at [practice.site.name]? If you do, reply BOOK, weโ€™ll confirm if successful

  • When a patient correctly replies to the message and is the first to do so, they will receive:

    • Thanks! Weโ€™ve successfully rebooked your appointment to [Day, Date] at [Time] at [practice.site.name]. Call us if you need to reschedule

  • When a patient replies but is not successful because the slot has already been filled:

    • Sorry, that slot's now been filled. You're still on our short notice list, we'll contact you if another slot becomes available

๐Ÿ’ก Top tip: These SMS messages contain merge tags, which will automatically populate with information relevant to the patient.
