What does having images saved against the appointment mean for me?
For our Canadian practices, images taken/saved in Dentally Vision are now linked to the appointment (visit) instead of being tied to a specific treatment item.
This gives you more flexibility:
You can delete, re-chart, or adjust treatment items without losing access to the images on that appointment.
The view images button will always be visible on the appointment, no matter what changes you make to the treatment plan items.
All images remain securely stored in the patient’s record.
How to acquire images when they are saved against the appointment?
The image acquisition process hasn’t changed, simply begin the acquisition as usual by clicking 'Acquire images' at the top of the appointment.
Images will automatically be linked to the appointment you’re working in.
How to view images when they are assigned to the appointment?
Once images have been acquired against an appointment you will be able to see a 'View images' button.
Clicking 'View images' opens the Images tab in the sidebar.
The sidebar will display all imaging exams linked to that appointment.
Switching to a different appointment and selecting 'View images' will update the sidebar with the correct images associated to that visit.
📝 Top Tip - Want to view the full image history for the patient? You can click 'Show all images' at the top of the image sidebar to see all of that patient's images.
Can I re-chart treatment items without affecting my acquired images?
Yes, you can re-chart or delete treatment items from your appointment without impacting image access. The 'View images' button will always stay visible on the appointment, so you can remove and re-chart treatment items as needed.
Can I re-assign images to another appointment?
Currently, images can not be reassigned to another appointment in Canada. Each image is automatically tied to the appointment it was acquired for.
Remember, images are always available in the Dentally Vision 'Cloud Gallery' and the Clinical sidebar even if the links are removed from the chart, for example if the appointment is deleted/removed.
