Dentally Vision updates ๐ฉป
๐ Improved: Dentally Vision audit trail filters
You can now filter the Dentally Vision audit trail by user and by action. This helps save time when searching for an action taken by a particular user for that patient.
The 'Action' column has also been updated to include more easily readable language, to ensure that the reader can understand the action that was taken by the user.
๐ Bug fix: The 'Provider' filter in the 'Radiograph Audit' report is now hidden when using the 'All' location filter, as it is not applicable. We have also updated the report so that the 'Provider' filter always returns the correct, filtered results when used in multi-site practices.
Global updates ๐
๐ New: AU/UK/ROI users can now manage accounts more easily
Users in Australia, the UK and Ireland can now use the new account screen, which allows you to:
Take payments for multiple invoices at once, automatically calculating charges
Take payments for family members in a single transaction
Quickly allocate unallocated payments
Easily identify which payments are linked to invoices and vice versa
Take and manage deposits efficiently
Users in all regions can now take deposits which will be displayed in the 'Account' tab (as long as you have enabled the new account screen), where they can be allocated when needed. There are several ways deposits can be taken:
You can take deposits like you would a payment
You can send a deposit payment link to patients
Patients can pay a deposit through online booking
These new accounting features will save you time, improve patient retention and reduce the chance of errors.
๐ New: Understand your recall success with the 'Recall Effectiveness' report
You can now access the 'Recall Effectiveness' report from the 'Reports' page in Dentally! This handy dashboard helps you track how well you are converting recalls into pre-bookings, bookings and completed appointments.
You can understand your performance across dental, hygiene and combined recalls, spot trends and areas for improvement, and easily identify actions to take. The report is customisable so you can identify your goals and track them at a glance. Find out more about the report here ๐
๐ New: Search for users and practitioners in settings
You can now search for any user or practitioner when managing them from 'Settings' > 'Users'. This will save time if you have a large number of users - you can now find them quickly when making changes.
๐ Improved: New filters in the 'Recalls' report
We have added two new filters to the 'Recalls' report:
'Include inactive patients' - Set whether you want the report to include patients who are marked as inactive, to view historical recalls. By default this is set to 'No', so the report will only show active patients.
'Pre-booked' - Indicate whether you want to include pre-booked recalls (recalls that were booked before the patient received any recall reminder, eg. if they booked when leaving the practice). By default this is set to 'No'.
๐ Improved: Doctors' address management
Doctors' addresses can now only be edited in the settings - it is no longer possible to edit them from within the patient details. This will help to avoid users accidentally editing the doctors' address details while in an individual patient's record, without realising it would change them universally, which could have safety implications.
Now when you add a doctor in a patientโs details screen, you can look up the doctor's contact details, but they cannot be edited from here - they must be edited in your contact settings.
๐ Improved: Readability in mixed dentition view
Weโve made small adjustments to the font and spacing of tooth notation to make the numbers easier to read when viewing mixed dentition.
๐ Improved: Responsive tabs in treatment planning
Treatment plan tabs now adjust based on your screen size, so long plan names wonโt get hidden behind other clinical tabs like 'Images' or 'BPE'.
๐ Bug fix: Resolved an issue where the clinical history sidebar would sometimes get stuck with a loading spinner.
UK/ROI-specific updates ๐ฌ๐ง๐ฎ๐ช
๐ Improved: 'Exam only' exemptions in Wales only apply to the exam
Clinicians no longer have to remember to manually remove the exemption if they do other treatments on patients with 'Exam only' exemptions. The exemption will automatically be removed as soon as a non-exam code is charted, and returned if those extra items are removed. This saves you countless hours and money lost chasing for patient payments if they leave without realising they aren't exempt.
๐ Bug fix: We have fixed an issue in Ireland where a loading icon displayed for longer than needed in the clinical history sidebar.

CA-specific updates ๐จ๐ฆ
๐ Improved: Better visibility and control over insurance plans
See how many patients are assigned to each insurance plan directly from the list view, and click the chevron to reveal a full list of those patients - giving visibility into which plans are being used and by who.
Patients can now be easily reassigned - individually or in bulk - to a different insurance plan. Just select the patients, search for the destination plan by number or identifier, and click 'Move'.
These updates make it easier for you to understand plan usage and clean up duplicates where needed.
๐ Improved: Resubmit claim button now always visible
Previously, if a claim couldnโt be resubmitted, the 'Resubmit claim' button would not display - we've updated this to ensure it is always visible. If resubmission isnโt allowed, the button is greyed out, with a tooltip explaining why and what you can do to resolve it. This change improves transparency and gives you clear guidance on actions needed.
๐ Improved: New filters in insurance plan settings
Weโve made it easier to manage insurance plans by adding filters for insurance carrier and plan status, helping you to quickly find and organise the plans you need.
๐ Improved: More flexibility when managing manual claims
You can now choose whether to mark a manual claim as manually submitted or record an insurance payment straight away. This update supports different workflows and gives you more control over how you manage and clear manual claims in the claims management tool.
๐ Improved: Ineligible claim statuses disabled during reconciliation
Checkboxes for claims that aren't eligible for payment are now visibly disabled during reconciliation, reducing confusion, preventing invalid actions, and allowing you to focus only on claims that can be processed.
๐ Improved: Clearer labelling in insurance plan settings
When creating or editing an insurance plan, you will now see a tooltip beside the 'Track' column in the 'Coverage limits and frequencies' section of the insurance plan settings. This indicates that you can click the star โญ๏ธ icon next to a treatment frequency limitation to track it at the patient policy level.
๐ Bug fix: Secondary insurance now shows 'Submit manually' when the COB isnโt supported by the carrier. Previously, some claims were incorrectly showing as 'Unknown' when the COB wasnโt supported. These now show correctly, so you know exactly what to do.
