Recovering missing VistaScan images in Dentally Vision

If an image does not appear in Dentally Vision after scanning with VistaScan, you may still be able to recover it using either VistaEasy or VistaSoft.

Before recovering the image, start a new acquisition in Dentally Vision using the same image type that was originally scanned.

For example:

  • Recovering two bitewings โ†’ select 2BW

  • Recovering a PA โ†’ select PA

  • Recovering an OPG โ†’ select OPG

This ensures the recovered image can be assigned correctly.

๐Ÿ’ก Top Tip: If after following the below, the image does not appear in Image Recovery, there may have been an issue during processing. Contact your hardware supplier if needed.


Recovering images using VistaEasy

Step 1 โ€“ Start image acquisition

  1. Open the patient in Dentally Vision

  2. Select the correct imaging procedure

  3. Select Proceed to acquisition

Once the VistaScan window appears and shows Device ready, continue to the next step.

Step 2 โ€“ Open image recovery

  1. Select the spanner and cog icon on the right-hand side of the window

  2. Select the Image Recovery icon

Step 3 โ€“ Recover the image

  1. Select the patient from the list

  2. Review the available images and confirm the correct image using the preview and timestamp

  3. Select Transfer Images

The recovered images will open in a new window.

Select the Save all marked images circular button in the top-left corner. The images will then transfer back into Dentally Vision, ready to assign and upload.


Recovering images using VistaSoft

Step 1 โ€“ Start image acquisition

  1. Open the patient in Dentally Vision

  2. Select the correct imaging procedure

  3. Select Proceed to acquisition

Once the VistaScan acquisition window appears, continue to the next step.

Step 2 โ€“ Open the image cache

Select the Image Cache icon in the VistaSoft window.

Step 3 โ€“ Recover the image

  1. Select the patient from the list

  2. Browse the available images

  3. Confirm the correct image using the preview and timestamp

  4. Tick the required image(s)

  5. Select Transfer to third-party application

The images will then appear in Dentally Vision, ready to assign and upload.
