Comparing previous exams

You can compare two perio exams using the 'Compare exam' button at the top right of the screen - you may need to scroll up to see these options.

Selecting exams to compare

You can compare any two exams at once - the exam you select first should always be the newest of the two exams you want to compare, as you can only choose an older exam to compare it with.

Use the drop down menu by clicking on the second exam to choose with one you want to compare the first one to.

Comparing exams - the graphical chart:

  • The current exam readings will display with a solid line or outline.

  • The prior exam's recordings are displayed with a dotted line or outline.

  • In the example above:

    • The previous exam had bleeding on the UR3 and UL5 which is no longer present on the current exam so shows as a dotted circle outline.

    • The UR6 had bleeding on the previous exam and this bleeding is still present so shows as a solid line/circle.

    • The mobility shows as overlaid circles - improvements can be seen on the UR1, UL1 and UL2. With old recordings showing with dotted outlines and new recordings showing as solid outlines.

๐Ÿ’ก Top tip - Using the 'View' button will allow you to remove any areas of information you do not wish to see, helping you and your patient to focus on areas you wish to discuss.

Comparing exams - the table:

  • The table view beneath the graphical chart will show separate lines for the Prior and Current exam readings.

  • Areas where there have been improvement are highlighted in green and areas where there has been a decline are highlighted in red.

  • Pocket depth values of 4โ€ฏmm or greater are displayed with a red underline on both exams. This visual highlight helps identify clinically significant changes to pocket depths, regardless of whether the value represents an improvement or decline.
