A sterilisation tracking code or Batch Control Identification (BCI) relates to the sterilisation cycle for the instruments used during the patient's procedure and allows the practice to create a list of patients based on the BCI should the need arise.
Allocating sterilisation codes to an appointment
Steri-codes are entered on the charting screen for each appointment. To add a sterilisation code, click on the barcode icon (next to the red delete button)
Each sterilisation code entry must be associated to an appointment
An error message will display if the code is not linked to an appointment
Multiple steri-codes can be entered for an appointment at any time, even if the appointment is completed. However, steri-codes can only be deleted on current appointments, but not on completed appointments.
Barcode scanner use is supported (hint: set the barcode scanner to input an enter keystroke after the code to automatically save the scanned code).
Searching for a sterilisation code
The Appointment Report is used to create a list of patients based on a specific sterilisation code.
Enter the exact code into the Sterilisation Batch Code field to filter and list the associated patient appointments.
