Submitting an NHS claim 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

πŸ“ Please note: To submit a claim the patient must have a CHI number or an attempted CHI search and the Exemption (if any) must be listed correctly before you can proceed.

  • Ensure that there are no outstanding Prior Approval requests for any of the treatment you wish to claim for.

  • Make sure all the items you wish to claim for are ticked as complete on the right hand side of the treatment plan and click on 'Submit claim' and then 'Submit dental claim'.

  • This will open up a preview of your claim with the items you are claiming for the charges associated. Please double check both the CHI number and Exemption at the top of this screen!

  • When you are sure the details are correct, click on 'Next'.

  • This will proceed you to the next claim screen, You should confirm the information is correct before proceeding. Here are a few things you should check:

    • The Practitioner

    • The Start and End dates, in case of Patient FTR, the end date will be that of the last treatment.

    • Prior Approval, Normally done automatically but if you created a prior approval using an old system you will need to fill the field in yourself.

    • Is it a Continuation claim.

    • If PFTR is yes, you MUST enter information into the PFTR observation field.

    • Mouth trauma, make sure this is ticked as will be 0 charge for the patient.

  • Once you are happy everything is correct click on 'Next'.

  • You will now be prompted with the declarations screen, read and tick these and click on 'Submit'.

  • You will be prompted to confirm you want to submit the claim, simply click 'Complete' to finish the submission process.

  • The claim will be held for 1 hour before sending to the NHS for review to give you time to correct any errors.
