How to remain compliant whilst using AI notes

It's not uncommon for AI tools to misinterpret information, these tools are only there to assist us in our jobs, and dentally's AI tools are no different. To ensure accuracy and to maintain the highest clinical standards, you should always:

  • Review every AI-generated document before finalising, signing and locking.

  • Add amendments for any inaccuracies spotted after the fact.

  • Gain patient consent ahead of using appointment recording during your appointments.

For compliance and quality assurance, we also recommend that your practice conducts regular audits of the outputs of notes generated using AI. This helps ensure your AI-generated content is being properly used and helps prevent practitioners from becoming complacent or overly reliant on the tools at there disposal.
