๐Ÿ“ Please note - Only Level 2 practitioners and above can create clinical notes.

Appointment recording and AI generated summaries are two separate tools that work well together, but can also be used independently to suit your note-taking workflow. Clinical notes can be typed, signed, and locked without using either tool - these features are there to make your daily admin easier, not to replace your judgement.

What is appointment recording?

Appointment recording captures the conversation between clinician and patient throughout the appointment. It produces a full transcript that is saved against the patient's audit log.

What are AI generated summaries?

AI generated summaries take your input - whether typed, dictated, or drawn from an appointment recording transcript - and turn it into a structured clinical note.

The summary focuses on producing the written clinical record for you to save against the patient's clinical history. You remain responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving the content before signing.

How do they work together?

  • Appointment recording captures and transcribes the conversation throughout the appointment.

  • The AI generated summary uses that transcript - along with any additional input - to produce a structured clinical note.

  • You then review, edit, sign, and lock the note.

How do I use them separately?

You do not have to use both tools together. You can:

  • Use appointment recording to capture a transcript without generating an AI summary.

  • Use the dictation tools to speak your notes after an appointment, then generate an AI summary from that input.

  • Type your notes manually and generate an AI summary from your typed input alone.

Important: Always review the generated summary before locking. You are responsible for the accuracy of the final clinical record.
