How do I assign a mouth area when charting?

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ CA - Canadian practices can assign a mouth area (such as, an arch or quadrant) when charting certain treatments. This is automatically included in claims and predeterminations.

To assign a mouth area

  • Go to the β€˜Chart’ tab in the patient record

  • Chart a treatment with a region of site

  • Click β€˜Set Area’ next to the treatment

πŸ“ Please note - The set area option will only appear for relevant treatments

  • Select the required mouth area (for example, Upper Right Quadrant)

  • Confirm your selection

  • The selected mouth area will be displayed next to the treatment.

To update the mouth area

Click the mouth area already selected next to the treatment and select a new option. You can update the mouth area as much as needed before the treatment is completed.

πŸ“ Please note - Once a treatment has been completed, the mouth area cannot be changed

How does this show on claims and predeterminations?

When you submit a claim or predetermination, the mouth area is pulled through from your charted item and automatically included. You do not need to enter or select it during submission.
